QUEEN'S ELM ARTISTS
creating an artistic renaissance in chelsea

painter, simon tarrant and sculptor, toin adams, have joined forces to create a loose (and dare we say it highly talented) collective of artists, musicians, performance artists, video artists, poets and thinkers to fill the queen’s elm with art, music, events and happenings over the next six months. this whole artist-led initiative has been enabled by the generosity and foresight of the sloane stanley estate who have provided us with the free space in which to do these things

without space, generally, art just doesn’t happen…so their help has been crucial.

their foresight too – since concentrated artistic activity almost always generates economic growth in surrounding areas. For reasons most artists find deeply annoying, the developers are always on our tails.  between us we’ve spent lifetimes occupying warehouses at the furthest outreaches of civilisation, where we’ve spent much time and our tiny pots of money on doing up the spaces in order to be able to do what we do, only to find we can’t pay the impossible rents that result from our innocently ‘gentrifying’ the locale!

but now we are in chelsea….it doesn’t get smoother than that.  truly we feel blessed and promise to generate so much artistic activity that……well wait and see....
